On April 21, Park Gyeong-seok, head of the National Solidarity for the Elimination of Discrimination against the Disabled, was involved in a confrontation with police officers and Seoul Metro staff while staging the 62nd 'Subway to Work' protest on the Dongdaemun-bound platform at Hyehwa Station on Seoul Subway Line 4. During the altercation, he fell at the train entrance.

Seoul Metro announced on the 17th, "Non-stop service on the southbound platform at Hyehwa Station on Line 4, which was implemented due to protests by a specific disability rights group, has ended as the demonstration concluded," adding, "Normal train operations resumed from 9:30 a.m."
The National Solidarity for the Elimination of Discrimination against the Disabled is currently on the 44th day of its 'Subway Protest for the Guarantee of Disability Rights Budget' campaign during the morning commute.
Seoul Metro began bypassing southbound trains at Hyehwa Station at around 8:13 a.m. for safety reasons. At one point, 22 southbound trains passed through the station without stopping.
