[Financial News] The story has emerged of a woman who spent £20,000 on excessive lip filler procedures, only to be refused treatment by medical professionals.
According to foreign media outlets such as the Daily Record and The Mirror on the 12th (local time), Andrea Ivanova, a 28-year-old woman from Bulgaria, has spent £20,000 over several years on lip filler treatments.
She said that while she loves her appearance, there are still a few flaws that bother her.
Currently, she is struggling to find a doctor willing to treat her due to the excessive amount of filler in her lips.
Earlier this year, Andrea said several dentists refused to treat her cracked teeth, and even clinics specializing in filler procedures are now declining to perform the lip filler treatments she so desires.
Andrea stated, "They simply said my lips are too big and they don't want to treat me. It's clear they feel disgust and ridicule toward me." She continued, "I don't understand how they can refuse treatment just because of my large lips. I think the way they treat me is truly rude."
After being denied appointments in her local area, she decided to travel farther for treatment. As a result, her expenses more than doubled. Previously, she paid £150 per session, but now she faces a staggering monthly cost of £450.
Despite spending at least £3,600 a year on her lips, Andrea is willing to pay even more to maintain her unique appearance.
She revealed, "Every cosmetic doctor in our city refuses to give me new filler procedures. They are worried that blocked blood flow could cause necrosis in my lips." She added, "The last doctor who treated me said my lips look unsightly and blamed himself for the outcome. I didn't respond because I didn't want to argue, so I just looked for another doctor."
Doctors, friends, family, and fans have all urged Andrea to stop undergoing cosmetic procedures, but she emphasized that she has no intention of quitting.
Andrea said, "I will never give up lip augmentation. My family doesn't like these procedures and thinks they're harmful. But for me, they're important—not only do they add volume to my face, but they also provide moisture and keep the tissue fresh."
She added, "I've never had an allergic reaction to fillers so far. My body has tolerated them well. My new doctor isn't hesitant to prescribe me more, so I will keep going to them. If I need to go abroad in the future, I definitely will. I will never stop."
