[Financial News] Noh Man-seok, Acting Prosecutor General, who announced his resignation amid controversy over the decision to forgo an appeal in the Daejang-dong private developer case, made his final commute to the Supreme Prosecutors' Office on the 14th ahead of his retirement ceremony.
At approximately 9:51 a.m., Noh arrived at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office in Seocho District, Seoul.
Reporters asked him for his thoughts ahead of the retirement ceremony, requested an explanation regarding the decision not to appeal, and questioned whether he had any regrets. However, he entered the building without responding.
At 10:30 a.m., Noh will hold a closed-door retirement ceremony in the main conference room on the 15th floor of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office. He is expected to address the controversy over the decision not to appeal in his farewell address, which will be released after the ceremony.
On November 7, Noh decided that the prosecution would not appeal the case involving five private developers in the Daejang-dong development corruption scandal. This sparked strong internal backlash and calls for his resignation. Ultimately, he offered his resignation on the 12th.
In a media interview the previous day, Noh stated, "The decision not to appeal was made from a managerial perspective for the benefit of the prosecution organization."
