[Financial News] Just a day after recording an earnings shock, JYP Entertainment was recognized for its outstanding sustainable growth, being named the world’s top company in this category by Time magazine.
Statista: "JYP excels in all aspects of financial and environmental performance"
Led by Chief Creative Officer (CCO) and Executive Producer Park Jin-young, JYP Entertainment achieved the distinction of being ranked No. 1 globally—as well as domestically—for the second consecutive year in the ‘2026 World’s Best Companies for Sustainable Growth’ list, announced by Time magazine and German market research firm Statista on the 12th (local time). The ranking recognizes 500 companies worldwide that demonstrate strong financial soundness and outstanding achievements in sustainable development.
Time magazine and Statista determined the final rankings by equally weighting corporate revenue growth, financial stability, and environmental impact, scoring each company out of 100 points. JYP received high marks across all indicators—including growth rate, financial stability, and environmental impact—scoring 97.59 points. This placed JYP first among Korean companies and first overall out of 500 global companies. Last year, JYP also ranked first in Korea and third globally with a score of 93.66.
Statista commented, "The most evident point is that JYP excels in every evaluation category. As with last year, JYP achieved an outstanding score and the highest ranking," adding, "While many companies perform well in one area but fall short in others, JYP is one of the few companies that excels in both financial and environmental performance."
JYP, First Entertainment Company to Publish a Sustainability Report Since 2022
In 2022, JYP Entertainment became the first Korean entertainment company to publish a Sustainability Report documenting its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives and activities, including its commitment to RE100 (Renewable Energy 100%), which involves replacing 100% of its electricity use with renewable energy. In June of this year, JYP released its fourth Sustainability Report.
Through the report, CEO Jimmy Jeong of JYP Entertainment stated, "Under the ESG vision of 'Leader of Change,' we will internalize the values of sustainability and diversity, actively respond to climate change, and contribute to creating a healthy global environment. Together with all stakeholders who support JYP, we will strive to become a 'leader driving positive change in the world.'"
At the end of last year, JYP was the only Korean entertainment company to receive the highest grade of 'AA' in Sustinvest’s 2024 ESG management evaluation, demonstrating its excellence in ESG practices.
