LG Electronics Inc. announced on the 14th that it won a total of 28 awards, including the top honor—the Presidential Award—at the 2025 Good Design (GD) Selection, which is regarded as the most prestigious design award in Korea.
The Good Design (GD) Selection is hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP). The program evaluates products for design excellence and innovation, conferring awards and granting the government-certified Good Design (GD) Mark.
This year, the LG SIGNATURE OLED T, the world’s first transparent and wireless TV, was awarded the Presidential Award, the highest distinction at the Good Design (GD) Selection. The product has also been recognized for its world-class design competitiveness, having previously won at the Red Dot Design Award, iF DESIGN AWARD, and International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA)—the three major global design awards.
The LG SIGNATURE OLED T is an OLED TV that allows users to switch between black screen and transparent screen modes with a remote control. In black screen mode, users can enjoy movies, games, and other content in stunning 4K quality on a 77-inch OLED display. In transparent screen mode, the TV provides a sense of openness by allowing viewers to see the space behind the screen, while also offering a unique visual experience exclusive to transparent screens, such as augmented reality.
LG Electronics Inc. received a total of 28 awards, including the Presidential Award. Products recognized for their design excellence include the LG ThinQ ON AI home hub, the LG AI Home IoT Package consisting of various IoT devices, the LG Tromm Objet Collection WashTower—a tower-type combination of washer and dryer, and the LG StanbyME 2, which features a display that can be easily detached from its stand for flexible use.
In addition to products, LG Electronics Inc. also won main awards in categories such as UX, UI, and packaging. These include the LG AI Symbol, representing empathetic AI; the LG SIGNATURE Smart InstaView UX, which allows users to check the inside of the refrigerator using transparent OLED technology without opening the door; and the packaging design for the wireless audio brand LG XBOOM.
Jung Wook-jun, Head of the Design Management Center at LG Electronics Inc., stated, “This is a representative example of LG Electronics Inc.'s innovative design, which combines meticulous research into customer lifestyles with advanced technology.” He added, “We will continue to lead the way in providing differentiated customer experience solutions.”
