NCSoft Corporation announced on the 14th that it will apply innovative technologies to its new title ‘Cinder City’ through a technology partnership with Microsoft.
Bae Jae-hyun, CEO of Bigfire Games, and Jeremy Hollett, Corporate Vice President of Customer Reliability Engineering (CRE) at Microsoft, discussed avenues for technological collaboration at the ‘G-Star 2025’ event held at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) in Haeundae, Busan.
‘Cinder City’ plans to leverage Microsoft Azure’s cloud infrastructure and Azure OpenAI-based optimization solutions to revolutionize user experience through technologies such as NPC behavior modeling, content recommendation, and real-time load balancing.
Bae Jae-hyun stated, “We expect to expand ‘Cinder City’ globally by utilizing the technical stability and infrastructure of Microsoft Azure, which is optimized for gaming. We aim to create strategic synergy not only in game development but also in operations and marketing.”
Jeremy Hollett commented, “Games are more than just content—they are a major industry where stability and resilience are key competitive factors. Microsoft Azure will actively provide its technological foundation for the development of NCSoft Corporation’s content, including the highly innovative and creative ‘Cinder City.’”
Meanwhile, ‘Cinder City’ is an open-world tactical shooter currently in development, targeting a global launch in the second half of 2026. NCSoft Corporation showcased Cinder City as a playable demo at G-Star 2025, which runs through the 16th.
