[Financial News] AeiROBOT, a leading humanoid robot company, announced on the 13th that it had won the Grand Prize in the overseas category at the ongoing 'ResorTech EXPO in Okinawa' in Okinawa, Japan.
'ResorTech EXPO in Okinawa' is a global event held annually in Okinawa, focusing on the convergence of advanced technology and the tourism industry. AeiROBOT's participation this year resulted from being invited as a prize for winning the 'Okinawa Innovation Award' at 'InnoVEX 2025' in Taiwan last May. At that time, AeiROBOT also received the 'NVIDIA Award,' achieving a double win.
AeiROBOT's consecutive awards follow its recognition at 'Robotworld 2025,' held at KINTEX in Ilsan on November 5, where it received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE). The industry is paying close attention to the fact that AeiROBOT has swept awards in Korea, Japan, and Taiwan within just six months. These three countries are all facing severe population decline and aging, leading to labor shortages. In particular, the shortage of workers for 3D (Dirty, Difficult, Dangerous) jobs, which are often avoided, is becoming a crisis across the industrial sector.
AeiROBOT's humanoid robots have emerged as a key solution to these social challenges. In the era of 'Sovereign AI,' the ability to secure and advance manufacturing and service industry expertise through 'Physical AI,' or physical robot technology, has been highly evaluated by all three countries.
Eum Younseal, CEO of AeiROBOT, stated, "This award is not just a recognition of our technological capabilities, but also an acknowledgment of the potential for AeiROBOT's humanoid robots to address the significant issue of labor shortages in the manufacturing and service industries." She added, "AeiROBOT is currently conducting demonstrations in parts factories in collaboration with HL Mando, SK Inc. AX, SK Telecom Co., Ltd. (SKT), Pusan National University (PNU), and Pukyong National University (PKNU). Our robots are differentiated from those in the US and China, and are becoming a future competitive edge for Korea. We will continue to focus on advancing our technology to maintain this momentum."
