SHINSEGAE INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION Inc. has signed an exclusive distribution agreement for Studio Doodal’s Solateria on the Steam and Nintendo Switch platforms. Starting in the first half of next year, the company aims to target global markets across Asia, Europe, and North America.
According to SHINSEGAE INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION Inc. on the 13th, Solateria is a new title currently being developed by indie studio Studio Doodal. The game is a 2D Metroidvania that allows players to explore a vast, maze-like world. It features a parrying-based combat system that requires precise timing and tells the story of a warrior of fire on a quest to find the first flame. Solateria’s demo was showcased at events such as Gamescom 2025 and G-Star 2024, where its mysterious hand-drawn art, dynamic action, and intuitive systems received praise, drawing attention from gamers both in Korea and abroad even before its official release.
With this agreement, SHINSEGAE INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION Inc. will play a key role in the digital distribution of Solateria on Steam, as well as in porting and distributing the Nintendo Switch console version.
Solateria will be released on Steam, the world’s largest PC game platform. By expanding its channel through this global distribution network, the company aims to strengthen its competitiveness in the game publishing business. Additionally, Solateria will be ported to Nintendo Switch and released on the Nintendo eShop, and SHINSEGAE INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION Inc. will also produce and distribute physical packages of the game worldwide, leveraging the Solateria IP.
Kim Min-jeong and Lee Kyu-won, co-CEOs of Studio Doodal, stated, “At this year’s G-Star 2025, we plan to unveil a new demo version of Solateria and focus on improving the game’s quality by incorporating feedback from gamers before its official launch.”
Yang Yoon-ji, CEO of SHINSEGAE INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION Inc., commented, “Indie games are emerging as a new driving force in the ever-expanding PC and console game market by building dedicated fandoms with unique content. As Studio Doodal’s publishing partner, we look forward to reaching gamers around the world through a multi-channel strategy spanning both PC and consoles.”
Since 2023, SHINSEGAE INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION Inc. has been expanding its IP-based game publishing business by handling console game porting, distribution, and marketing for hit IPs such as NEOWIZ’s Lies of P and SANABI, KIWI WORKS’ WitchSpring R, Team Tetrapod’s Staffer Case, and Sinkhole Studio’s Ogu and the Secret Forest.
