[Financial News] The boy group Saja Boys from the Netflix animated film 'KPop Demon Hunters' will continue their music activities in real life as well.
On the 13th, the Federation of Korean Music Performers (FKMP), a collective management organization for neighboring rights of music performers, announced that all five vocal artists of the popular boy group Saja Boys have recently joined as members. FKMP is a compensation-receiving organization designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The newly registered music performers are Danny Chung and samUIL Lee, who, along with existing members Andrew Choi, Nekwave, and Kevin Woo, are the actual vocalists behind the boy group in 'KPop Demon Hunters'.
Andrew Choi is a talented producer who placed third on Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS)'s 'K-pop Star Season 2' and has composed hit songs for leading K-pop artists such as SHINee, Exo, and NCT. Kevin Woo, a former member of U-KISS, has continued his career through solo activities and musicals, performing on various stages. The other members are also active in their respective fields as producers, vocalists, and lyricists.
The participation of the Saja Boys' voice actors in the Korea Music Performers' Association is notable as it represents a case where artists mainly active overseas have voluntarily joined Korea's neighboring rights system.
Joh Hyun, head of the Overseas DB Team at the Korea Music Performers' Association, stated, "As music produced and released in Korea is now consumed globally, the association will continue to serve as a central hub to ensure that not only domestic performers but also artists active abroad can secure their rightful interests."
Founded in 1988, the Korea Music Performers' Association manages the rights of singers, instrumentalists, vocalists, and conductors in the fields of popular music, traditional Korean music, and classical music. Recently, Wendy of Red Velvet became the 50,000th member to join.
