[Financial News] A threatening message claiming explosives were planted at the Office of the President of South Korea was posted online, prompting police to strengthen security around the presidential office.
The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced on the 11th that a post stating, 'Explosives have been planted at the Office of the President of South Korea. I will assassinate the president,' was uploaded to the 113 Report Center of the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA). As a result, security measures around the presidential office in Yongsan District were heightened from noon the previous day.
The 113 Report Center receives reports related to espionage, technology leaks, and cybercrimes.
The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul shared the information with its personnel and increased patrols. The Busan Jungbu Police Station is reportedly tracking the post’s Internet Protocol (IP) address.
A police official stated, "We will continue to strengthen security until it is confirmed that the report is not true."
