Korea-China Think Tanks to Assess Bilateral Development Directions on the 11th... Hosted by the Institute for Global Strategic Cooperation

The Institute for Global Strategic Cooperation announced on the 10th that experts from Korean and Chinese think tanks will gather to assess the present and future of bilateral relations in the fields of diplomacy, economic security, and socio-cultural affairs. Under the theme 'A New Leap Forward in the Korea-China Strategic Cooperative Partnership,' the Korea-China Think Tank Dialogue will be held on the 31st floor of the Schubert Hall at Hotel President in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 11th, with participation from experts of both countries.
At the opening ceremony, Hwang Jae-ho, President of the Institute for Global Strategic Cooperation, and Chen Shichen, President of the Global Governance Institute, will deliver opening remarks. Congratulatory addresses are scheduled from Hong Ki-won, Secretary General of the Korea-China Parliamentarians' Association (Democratic Party of Korea), Dai Bing, Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, and Noh Jae-heon, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to China (online).
The first session, moderated by Hwang Jae-ho, President of the Institute for Global Strategic Cooperation, will feature a dialogue between Hong Hyun-ik, former President of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA), and Shen Weizhong, Vice President of the Global Governance Institute, on the topic 'Achievements and Significance of the South Korea-China Summit.'
The second session, moderated by Yu Tiejin, President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies, Peking University, will focus on 'Changes and Prospects in the Situation on the Korean Peninsula and Surrounding Regions.' Panelists include Zheng Yuanshi, Senior Advisor at the Global Governance Institute (former General Manager of Microsoft Greater China), Jang Jun-suh, Senior Research Fellow (former Naval Attaché to the United States), and Wang Sun-taek, Visiting Professor at Sogang University.
The third and final session, moderated by Kim Wan-joong, former Ambassador to Australia, will address 'Directions and Recommendations for the Development of Korea-China Relations.' Presentations will be given by Teng Shichen, President of the Global Governance Institute, and Hwang Jae-ho, President of the Institute for Global Strategic Cooperation.
A representative from the Institute for Global Strategic Cooperation stated, “Amid growing instability in the international order and increasing uncertainty in the global economy, a wide range of candid discussions will take place to seek a new leap forward in the strategic cooperative partnership based on mutual understanding and cooperation.”
