Financial News Gangneung – Kim Ki-seop: The 'Visiting Masterclass', featuring flutist Yaeram Park as a guest faculty member for music majors at Gangneung-Wonju National University, will take place at 10 a.m. on the 11th at Gangneung-Wonju National University.
According to the Music in PyeongChang Operations Office, Yaeram Park is a world-renowned flutist who, at the age of 20, became the first foreigner to be appointed as principal flutist of the Avignon National Orchestra in France.
She was unanimously admitted and graduated at the top of her class for both her bachelor's and master's degrees at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. She also became the first Asian to complete the highest-level performance program, firmly establishing her reputation as a professional musician.
She has won first prize in all nine major domestic and international competitions, and has demonstrated her talent on the world stage by winning international competitions such as Picardie, Lufirnos, and Bucharest.
Since October 2023, she has served as principal flutist of the La Monnaie Royal Symphony Orchestra in Belgium, while also teaching as a professor at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Saint-Maur-des-Fossés in Paris, dedicating herself to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
During this 'Visiting Masterclass', three Gangneung-Wonju National University students—Jeong So-yeon, Song Yuna, and Jeon Sori—will each receive instruction on Jacques Ibert’s Solo Piece for Flute, the 'Allegro' from his Flute Concerto, and Gabriel Fauré’s Fantaisie for Flute and Piano, Op. 79.
Meanwhile, the Music in PyeongChang Operations Office, through the 'Visiting Masterclass'—part of the year-round educational program of MPyC Academy—continues to provide opportunities for local music talents to learn directly from top musicians and educators in various fields such as vocal music, piano, and flute, helping them enhance their skills and broaden their networks.
