[The Financial News] In a School Zone crosswalk, a group of adults worked together to rescue a child who was trapped under a car after an accident while crossing the street.
According to police and other sources on the 7th, at around 9:05 p.m. the previous day, a Chevrolet Spark driven by a woman in her 50s, identified as A, struck a boy, identified as B, who was riding a bicycle across a diagonal crosswalk in the School Zone of Yeongtong District, Suwon.
A was making a right turn out of an apartment complex and was not driving at high speed, but as a result of the accident, B, still on his bicycle, became trapped under the front bumper of the car.
Police reported that about ten adults who witnessed the accident nearby immediately rushed over, lifted the vehicle, and managed to rescue B.
B was taken to the hospital with abrasions and other injuries to his face and is currently receiving treatment. His life is not in danger. A stated that she did not see B before the accident occurred.
Police plan to investigate A on suspicion of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes, taking into account that the accident occurred within a School Zone.
