[Financial News] "Receiving a Rolex is more than just a gift. It is the culmination of the LG Twins’ 31-year dream, the passion of the late former Chairman Koo Bon-moo, and the honor of etching the 2025 unified championship into history—a proud completion of tradition."
The LG Twins once again celebrated the glory of their 2025 KBO League unified championship at the Grand Ballroom of Konjiam Resort.
The 'Unified Championship Celebration,' attended by about 120 people including Chairman and club owner Koo Kwang-mo, group officials, players, and front office staff, was more than a simple congratulatory event. It reaffirmed the unique and strong traditions of the LG Twins.
Club owner Koo expressed his gratitude to the players, coaching staff, and front office, paying tribute to those who contributed to the 2025 championship. He highlighted 'solid teamwork' as the key to their victory.
He stated, "The 2025 LG Twins, who filled in each other's gaps, led, encouraged, and supported one another, will be forever remembered as a tightly knit team." His words were more than just a compliment.
This was high praise from the club owner, clearly defining the identity of the 'United LG' that overcame countless challenges throughout the season to finally reach the top.
Manager Youm Kyoung-youb also emphasized the value of teamwork, saying, "We overcame adversity as one under the banner of the LG Twins and achieved victory."

The highlight of the event was the presentation of a luxury Rolex watch to Hyun-soo Kim, who was named the Korean Series MVP.
Club owner Koo personally handed the watch to Hyun-soo Kim, explaining, "Awarding a Rolex to the Korean Series MVP is a tradition started by the late founding owner, Koo Bon-moo, whose passion and love for the baseball team established this custom."
He declared, "To honor that legacy and to experience such glorious moments more often, I will continue this as an LG Twins tradition," officially establishing it as an important part of the club’s culture rather than a one-time event.
This tradition dates back to 1998. At that time, the late Koo Bon-moo purchased an expensive Rolex watch with his own money and entrusted it to the club’s safe, instructing it be given to the Korean Series MVP if the team won the championship. In 2023, when the LG Twins claimed their first title in 31 years, the watch finally found its owner in Korean Series MVP Oh Ji-hwan.

Oh Ji-hwan, recognizing the deep meaning of the watch, returned it to the group. Chairman Koo Kwang-mo then purchased a new watch and presented it to Oh Ji-hwan, thereby reestablishing the 'Korean Series MVP Rolex' tradition.
In 2025, this prestigious baton was passed to Hyun-soo Kim, who excelled in the Korean Series.
Hyun-soo Kim expressed his gratitude, saying, "I am thankful to the club owner for such a meaningful gift." He added, "I hope our players perform well next year so that another teammate can receive the Rolex," demonstrating his selfless spirit and wishing for the continued success of his team.
