Kim Keon-hee Special Counsel Raids Acrovista Over 'Presidential Residence Relocation Allegations'... Including 21gram and Others

[Financial News] The special prosecutor team for Kim Keon-hee, led by Min Jung-ki, has launched a compulsory investigation into the Acrovista residence of former President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife, as part of the probe into allegations surrounding the relocation of the presidential residence.
On the morning of the 6th, the special counsel conducted searches at seven locations, including Acrovista, the offices of 21gram, and the residences of related individuals, in connection with the alleged preferential treatment regarding the relocation of the presidential residence.
It has been reported that the raid included the former president's private residence and Covana Contents, which was operated by Kim Keon-hee.
The allegations center on claims that 21gram received preferential treatment for illegally expanding the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, during the Yoon Suk-yeol administration. Last year, the Board of Audit and Inspection announced the results of its audit into the relocation project, revealing that 15 unqualified companies, including 21gram, participated in illegal subcontracting through private contracts. Although suspicions were raised that 21gram benefited due to its ties with Kim Keon-hee, the Board of Audit and Inspection dismissed questions about who recommended 21gram or how it was selected.
There are also suspicions that 21gram secured the residence construction contract as a reward for sponsoring Covana Contents, which was operated by Kim Keon-hee. It is known that Jo, the spouse of the CEO of 21gram, paid an additional amount when exchanging a Chanel bag, which had been gifted by former presidential aide Yoo Kyung-ok and former Unification Church World Headquarters chief Yoon Young-ho. Jo reportedly attended the Kookmin University Graduate School of Design with Kim Keon-hee.
Through this search and seizure, the special counsel aims to determine whether Kim Keon-hee was directly involved in the selection of 21gram, whether former President Yoon was aware of and participated in the selection process, and whether sponsorship of Covana Contents had a direct impact on the selection.
