[Financial News] Kim Seung-youn, Chairman of Hanwha Group, marked the Hanwha Eagles’ runner-up achievement in the 2025 Korean Series by presenting 60 players and staff with iPhone 17 Pro devices in the team’s signature orange color.
According to Hanwha Group, on the 4th, Chairman Kim sent a message to the team along with the gifts, stating, "Congratulations on finishing as runners-up in the Korean Series. I applaud the passion of the team, who gave their all until the end."
He added, "The sweat shed on the way to becoming runners-up will serve as a solid stepping stone for tomorrow’s victory. I look forward to seeing the Hanwha Eagles soar even higher in the future."
Previously, right after the team’s runner-up finish on October 31, Chairman Kim expressed his gratitude for the fans’ passion and support through a banner that read, "I will never forget those who cheered us on with the greatest passion in the world. With that love in our hearts, we will rise again."
This gift was prepared by Chairman Kim to embody the meaning of 'unwavering passion' and 'Hanwha’s unique teamwork,' symbolized by the orange color representing Hanwha Group and the Hanwha Eagles.
This season, the Hanwha Eagles finished second in the KBO League, making the postseason for the first time in seven years and reaching the Korean Series stage for the first time in 19 years.
In the playoffs, the team emerged victorious, but in the Korean Series, they were defeated by the LG Twins and finished as runners-up.
Team captain Chae Eun-sung remarked, "Thanks to the chairman’s affection and support for the team, all the players have been able to fully focus on each game. We will prepare even more thoroughly and challenge for the championship again next season."
Chairman Kim Seung-youn, a 40-year fan and owner of the Hanwha Eagles, shared the joy with the team by shedding tears together when they won the Korean Series in 1999.
During the regular season, he also provided various motivational gifts to boost the team’s performance and sent a congratulatory letter to manager Kim Kyung-moon for achieving 1,000 career wins in the KBO League.
