On the morning of the 4th, a stabbing rampage occurred at a Redevelopment Association office in Gangdong District, Seoul.
[Financial News] One of the three victims who suffered serious injuries after a former association president wielded a knife at a Redevelopment Association office in Cheonho-dong, Gangdong District, has died. Police plan to add a murder charge to the suspect and apply for an arrest warrant. According to police on the 5th, one of the victims who was receiving treatment after the stabbing incident at the Cheonho-dong association office the previous morning has passed away.
Police intend to add a murder charge to the existing attempted murder charge against Mr. Cho (60) and will apply for an arrest warrant within the day. Mr.
Cho is accused of entering the Gangdong District Cheonho-dong Urban Housing Redevelopment Association office at around 10:20 a. m. the previous day and stabbing three employees in an attempt to kill them.
He had previously been summarily indicted for sexual assault against one employee while serving as association president earlier this year, which led to his dismissal from the position. It was also reported that after being prosecuted for a fine in court, Mr.
Cho attempted to reach a settlement with the affected employee. The Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office has requested a formal trial for the sexual assault case.
This is intended to be tried together with the recent stabbing incident.
