'Coming Out' Jonathan Bailey Named 'Sexiest Man Alive' by People Magazine

[Financial News] British actor Jonathan Bailey, 37, has earned the title of 'Sexiest Man Alive' this year.
On the 3rd (local time), People magazine selected Bailey as the 'Sexiest Man Alive 2025.'
Regarding his new title, Bailey described it as 'an incredible honor,' adding, 'It’s a huge privilege and also completely absurd.'
He continued, 'I had to keep it a secret, so I only told my dog,' and added, 'Now I’m looking forward to my friends and family finding out.'
Bailey, who is from the UK, gained worldwide popularity for his role in the Netflix series 'Bridgerton.'
He starred in the film 'Jurassic World: Rebirth,' and during its release in early July, he visited Korea with co-star Scarlett Johansson, drawing attention from Korean fans.
In 2023, Bailey was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Emmy Awards for his role in the American drama 'Fellow Travelers.'
Bailey, who has publicly come out as gay, also established a fund to support LGBTQ+ organizations.
Meanwhile, People magazine has selected the Sexiest Man Alive every year since 1985, beginning with Mel Gibson.
Alongside Bailey and Gibson, actors such as Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Dwayne Johnson, and Pierce Brosnan, as well as sports star David Beckham, have all received the 'Sexiest Man Alive' title.
The oldest recipient was Sean Connery, who was 59 when he was chosen in 1989, while the youngest were John F. Kennedy Jr. and Tom Cruise, both selected at age 27 in 1988 and 1990, respectively.
