Dongwon Industries announced on the 4th that it will participate in the 2025 Busan International Seafood & Fisheries EXPO (BISFE), which will be held from the 5th to the 7th at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) in Haeundae-gu, Busan.
The Busan International Seafood & Fisheries EXPO is one of Asia’s top three seafood trade fairs, with 420 seafood companies and organizations from 25 countries in attendance.
At this exhibition, Dongwon Industries plans to showcase a variety of seafood products, including domestically sourced Pacific bluefin tuna and salmon, to major domestic and international buyers and related organizations, aiming to highlight the competitiveness of K-Seafood.
On the first day of the event, Dongwon Industries will hold a Pacific bluefin tuna cutting show and tasting session from the East Coast.
Recently, Dongwon Industries has been discussing with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF), local governments, and others about processing and distribution solutions for domestically caught Pacific bluefin tuna from the East Coast, whose catch volume is increasing but much of which is discarded due to quota regulations.
Building on over 50 years of accumulated seafood processing technology, Dongwon Industries aims to establish a systematic distribution network and develop new products that reflect customer feedback.
Dongwon Industries will also introduce salmon, distributed in collaboration with Norwegian salmon specialist Hofseth, which streamlines the supply chain. The salmon, flash-frozen at ultra-low temperatures in Norway, is rapidly thawed at Dongwon Industries’ Busan plant using advanced technology, ensuring it is delivered fresh through distribution channels.
A Dongwon Industries representative stated, "Based on more than 50 years of seafood processing expertise, we will present competitive seafood products to both domestic and international markets."
