The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 4th that it was selected as the top office in the '2025 Metropolitan and Provincial Offices of Education Evaluation,' which assesses the implementation of national education policies by the United States Department of Education (ED). This marks the third consecutive year since 2023 that Daegu has received the highest rating.
This year’s evaluation targeted 17 metropolitan and provincial offices nationwide, covering four areas and 21 indicators: national responsibility for education and care, classroom innovation, inclusive schools, and the efficiency of administrative and financial operations.

In particular, it achieved top national results in several areas, including establishing a digital-based educational environment, fostering digital competencies such as software (SW) and artificial intelligence (AI), supporting innovation in teaching and student assessment, promoting student mental health, and creating conditions for teachers to focus on educational activities.
In the qualitative evaluation, the 'Daegu Digital Education Innovation Policy' was recognized as an exemplary case, highlighting Daegu’s leadership in educational innovation in the digital era.
Superintendent Kang Eun-hee stated, "This achievement is the valuable result of the dedication and cooperation of the entire Daegu education community." She emphasized, "We will continue to take the lead in implementing national education policies and do our utmost to enhance the quality of education and strengthen educational autonomy."
