This event marks the first experiential invitation program organized by the National Center for the Rights of the Child in partnership with a private company. It was designed to provide all children with equal opportunities to participate in hands-on job experiences alongside their families.
The two organizations jointly hosted the event to ensure equal opportunities for children and families who have fewer chances to participate in such experiences, and to help children explore their dreams and futures.
The National Center for the Rights of the Child is a public institution under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, established by the Child Welfare Act. It is the only public agency in the world dedicated to realizing children's rights, prioritizing the best interests of children from pregnancy and birth through to independence.
MBC Playbe, a subsidiary of Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), is a specialized educational and cultural content company that operates the global children's job experience theme park, KidZania.
The invitation program began on the 1st and will run until December 19 this year, with approximately 1,000 children and family members (500 families) from across the country participating.
Invited children and their families will have the chance to experience a variety of professions, including police officers, firefighters, doctors, and broadcasters. Through these activities, they will learn about different roles in society that are not easily encountered in daily life, and will have time to explore their own aptitudes and interests.
Kang Jae-hyung, CEO of MBC Playbe, stated, "This event is a meaningful opportunity for companies to fulfill their social responsibilities. We will continue to pursue diverse collaborations so that children can enjoy learning and nurture their dreams."
Ick-Joong Chung, President of the National Center for the Rights of the Child, emphasized, "I hope every child can discover their unique potential through diverse experiences without discrimination. We will strive to promote a healthy play culture where children can participate and enjoy themselves as a result of this event."
