"We share the meaning of a hero with children through stories of parents in uniform."YES24, a cultural content platform, is partnering with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MPVA) to run a gratitude campaign called 'My Hero Book' for families of Uniformed Services. The campaign aims to honor the dedication of Uniformed Services—such as police officers, soldiers, correctional officers, and firefighters—who protect the nation and its people, and to instill pride and love for family among their children.
Fifty Heroes Reborn as Storybooks

In August, the MPVA selected 50 Uniformed Services members with children and featured their stories in 'My Hero Book.' The book includes stories of individuals such as Seo Hyo-chang, a police officer who jumped into the sea to save citizens; Choi Wook, a firefighter who puts people first; military couple Seo Hye-jin and Lee Sang-il, who fulfill their duty to national defense; Park Cheol-su, a coast guard officer who was first to rush into danger; and Choi Yoon-young, a correctional officer who safeguards the prison. Each story highlights the dedication of Uniformed Services and their families, retold as a children's storybook.
All 50 completed copies of 'My Hero Book' are being exhibited at six YES24 offline bookstores nationwide. Special exhibitions are also being held at the YES24 Gangseo NC Branch and the YES24 Suyeong Bookstore F1963 Branch in Busan. Visitors can experience the stories of Uniformed Services families firsthand.
Thank-You Letter Event and Donation Campaign Also Underway

To further spread the campaign, YES24 is hosting a 'Thank-You Letter Event' until the 30th. For every 1,000 letters of gratitude sent by readers to Uniformed Services, 500 books will be donated to Uniformed Services members.
The campaign video is available on YES24's YouTube channel and website, featuring 17 Uniformed Services family members who participated in the filming with their children. The children gained a new appreciation for their parents' dedication, while the parents had a chance to express their love to their kids.
"I Want to Give My Children the Image of a Hero"

Park Cheol-su, a coast guard officer who participated in the campaign, remarked, "It was meaningful to leave a special gift for my children," and added, "As a parent in uniform, I wanted to show my children what a hero looks like."
A YES24 representative stated, "We wanted to share the stories of Uniformed Services who protect the nation and its people with more readers," and continued, "We will continue to promote a culture of sharing and gratitude through reading with various programs in the future."
Meanwhile, YES24 and the MPVA plan to make the newly created 'My Hero Book' eBook available for free on their website, and will distribute 2,000 copies to elementary schools and public libraries nationwide so that children can naturally learn about the dedication and courage of Uniformed Services.
