[Financial News] Toss (operated by Viva Republica) announced on the 3rd that it has expanded its multilingual functionality within its application to officially support a total of five foreign languages. In addition to its existing English service, Toss has newly added Chinese language, Vietnamese, Thai language, and Russian, creating an environment where foreign customers can access financial services without language barriers.
This expansion of officially supported foreign languages aims to improve access to financial services for foreign customers. Since the official introduction of English in the app, Toss has been working to enhance the user experience for each language. The four newly added languages are among the most commonly used by foreign residents in Korea.
A Toss representative stated, "With the increase in officially supported languages, we expect not only greater understanding and trust in our services but also a significant improvement in overall financial accessibility. Toss continues to strengthen its multilingual service foundation through a dedicated in-house team and strives to be a platform where anyone can conveniently manage their finances, regardless of language."
Toss plans to sequentially expand support for additional foreign languages by the end of this year and into early next year. The company is currently considering adding Japanese language, Uzbek, Nepali, Indonesian, Filipino language, Burmese language, Mongolian, Sinhala, and Kazakh.
As of the first half of this year, the number of foreign subscribers to Toss reached 460,000. Toss has established an environment where foreign residents can process everyday financial tasks, such as remittances, payments, and even hospital bill reimbursements, at the same level as Korean nationals.
