[Financial News] The Korea Association of Real Estate Development (KODA) announced on the 3rd that it will establish the Korea Real Estate Development Industry Institute (K-REDII) to promote the sustainable growth and public interest of the real estate development industry.
The institute will officially launch its activities at the main event of the association’s 20th anniversary celebration, 'ALL NEW DEVELOPER PROJECT 20', to be held on the 20th at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
The establishment of the institute aims to develop the Policy Research Office under the association into an independent entity, seeking the future direction and public role of the industry from a national perspective beyond the interests of the sector. KODA explained that the initiative stems from the recognition that, despite real estate development being an industry that creates spaces for housing and socio-economic activities, there is a lack of specialized research infrastructure to systematically address these issues.
K-REDII’s vision is to become 'a hub of research leading innovation and advancement in the real estate development industry, and ensuring housing and lifestyle stability for the public.' Its key focus areas will include research on advanced development models, recommendations for public-private urban development policies, analysis of real estate development finance and business feasibility, and improvements to housing policies and systems.
The institute will be organized around a board of directors and a research headquarters, building a collaborative network that encompasses industry, academia, and public institutions. In particular, it plans to strengthen field-oriented policy proposals and objective research by operating an expert advisory group and conducting joint studies with academia.
Seungbae Kim, president of KODA, stated, "K-REDII represents a new challenge for the association to lead the future of the real estate development industry and fulfill its social responsibilities," adding, "We hope that practical policy research for industry advancement and public housing stability will continue."
Meanwhile, at the 20th anniversary celebration, KODA will also host major programs such as the Global Developer Conference, the NEXT 20 Vision Declaration Ceremony, and the KODA Developer Awards.
