[Financial News] The initiative to create 'one Seoul Youth Job Academy per district' has now been completed across all 25 districts of Seoul.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 2nd that it will open the 25th Seoul Youth Job Academy, Jungnang Campus, in Sangbong-dong, Jungnang District, with operations beginning on the 3rd. Jungnang Campus is set to serve as a strategic hub for cultivating practical young talent in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital fields.
The facility, spanning a total floor area of 620 square meters, features three lecture rooms, a community lounge, a team project room, and relaxation spaces. Located just a one-minute walk from Sangbong Station, it offers excellent accessibility and is surrounded by well-developed local infrastructure.
Jungnang Campus has selected a total of 75 trainees this year for three AI convergence programs: digital marketing, data analysis, and service planning. The courses will run from early this month through early February next year.
Since 2021, the Seoul Youth Job Academy has trained a total of 11,114 IT and software professionals over five years. The cumulative employment rate stands at 75.4%, and the average three-year job retention rate among graduates working in their trained field is 93%.
With the opening of Jungnang Campus this year, all 25 districts in Seoul now each have their own Seoul Youth Job Academy campus.
Since May, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has restructured the Mapo District, Jung-gu, and Jongno campuses as AI Specialized Campuses focused on advanced AI talent development. The AI Specialized Campus programs are operated in collaboration with global tech giants such as Microsoft and Intel. Of the 86 graduates from the first cohort (May to August) this year, 70% secured positions at leading companies including Samsung Group, Coupang, and Krafton.
Recruitment for the third cohort of the AI Specialized Campus (Mapo District and Jung-gu) begins on the 3rd. On the same day, a total of 18 campuses—including those in Yongsan District, Dobong District, and Songpa District—will also start accepting applications for trainees throughout this month.
Yongtae Joo, Director of Economic Policy at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, stated, "Establishing 25 campuses is a significant achievement, as it completes a practical and systematic educational infrastructure to address youth employment issues in Seoul. Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen customized job training and employment support closely linked to industry needs, enabling young people to enter society stably even as the economic environment evolves."
