At the Korea-Indonesia summit held on the 1st at Gyeongju Hwabaek International Convention Center (HICO), President Lee Jae-myung emphasized, "The Republic of Korea is learning from the balance, pragmatism, and strategic autonomy demonstrated by the 'Bandung Policy' of the Republic of Indonesia."
Meeting with President Prabowo Subianto, President Lee said, "I hope you will share your experiences with me and our foreign policy."
President Lee also noted, "Our two countries have built a deep cooperative relationship not only in trade and investment but also in the defense sector. I hope we will see even greater achievements in military and security cooperation, especially in the joint development of fighter jets." He added, "I heard that your approval rating surpassed 80% on your first anniversary in office. That is remarkable—congratulations. Since the planned state visit in September was canceled, I look forward to its realization in the near future."
In response, President Prabowo Subianto stated, "It is a great honor to visit Korea, and I will instruct the Foreign Minister to ensure that a state visit takes place soon. Korea is a very important partner for the Republic of Indonesia, and we hope to strengthen cooperation in many areas, not just the economy."
He also remarked, "Thanks to Korea's outstanding leadership, the APEC Summit is proceeding successfully. The gala dinner performance was especially impressive. The younger generation in Indonesia is enthusiastic about K-pop." He further emphasized, "We hope to continue close defense cooperation, particularly through ongoing discussions regarding the joint development of the KAI KF-21 Boramae project."
