Innospace, a private space launch vehicle company, announced on the 29th that ahead of the first commercial launch of ‘HANBIT-NANO,’ it has unveiled the PLA (Payload Adapter) upper plate, a satellite-launch vehicle connection device engraved with the names of 238 employees and 34 investment firms. This marks a shared record of the company's first step toward space.
The PLA is a structure installed inside the ‘Payload Fairing’ at the top of the launch vehicle. It protects and secures the satellite and payload from vibrations and shocks, and serves as the final link that safely separates them once the target orbit is reached. Among the launch vehicle components, it remains in space the longest.
The HANBIT-NANO PLA upper plate, engraved with the names of Innospace employees, symbolizes the dedication, effort, and spirit of challenge and innovation of everyone involved in the development and launch of the first HANBIT-NANO space launch vehicle. Under the mission name ‘SPACEWARD’ and the slogan ‘Let’s Space Forward,’ it represents the collective first step toward space. The names of 34 investment firms that have accompanied Innospace on its growth journey are also inscribed, adding significance in terms of trust and partnership.
Soojong Kim, CEO of Innospace, stated, “The names of each and every employee engraved on the first commercial launch vehicle ‘HANBIT-NANO’ symbolize a spirit of challenge that is even greater than the technology itself. Innospace’s first space launch is the culmination of the journey we have built together, serving as both a record of our growth and the starting point of the private space launch era.”
The HANBIT-NANO launch window is set for four weeks, from October 28 to November 28 (Brazil time). Innospace is currently preparing for launch at the Alcântara Launch Center (CLA) in Brazil, sequentially completing final assembly and integration checks of the launch vehicle.
The specific launch date and time will be finalized in consultation with the Brazilian Air Force, taking into account weather conditions, technical checks, and operational circumstances during the designated period.
