The Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Government is making every effort to promote K-beauty during the APEC period.
The provincial government announced on the 29th that, in conjunction with the APEC Summit, it is operating the Bio Beauty Industry Pavilion and K-beauty Joint Pavilion within the APEC Economic Exhibition Hall at Gyeongju Expo Grand Park, widely showcasing the excellence of Gyeongsangbuk-do’s bio and beauty industries both domestically and internationally.
This exhibition presents the vision of the province's bio beauty industry. By combining exhibitions and hands-on experiences, it allows domestic and international visitors attending APEC to gain a comprehensive view of the present and future of Gyeongsangbuk-do’s unique K-beauty-centered bio beauty industry.
Choi Hyeokjun, Director of Meta AI Science, emphasized, "With the world’s attention focused on this APEC Summit, it is a prime opportunity to showcase the excellence and technological prowess of Gyeongsangbuk-do cosmetics to the world. We will use APEC as a springboard to expand our global network and advance the industrial ecosystem, striving to establish Gyeongsangbuk-do as the hub of the K-beauty industry."
The Bio Beauty Industry Pavilion (Advanced Future Industry Pavilion) will be open until November 23. It serves as a promotional space that highlights the province’s advanced bio-life industry capabilities and the potential for convergence across industries. The exhibition space encompasses major industries representing Gyeongsangbuk-do, including hemp, vaccines, beauty, and food tech.
In particular, the beauty section features a variety of content such as AI-based bio beauty masks, beauty devices, cosmetics containing natural ingredients, and fragrance testing with natural raw materials, all of which are drawing significant interest from visitors.
The K-beauty Joint Pavilion (Enterprise Business Pavilion) will be operated until November 1 under the leadership of the provincial government, with participation from Gyeongsan-si, Gyeongbuk Institute of IT Convergence Industry Technology, Gyeongbuk Cosmetics Industry Association, and Daegu Haany University.
A total of 22 cosmetics and beauty companies from the province are showcasing a wide range of products, from basic and color cosmetics to hair, skin, and body care items, all reflecting the latest global trends.
On-site, a variety of experiential programs are offered, including scalp and skin diagnostics, making perfumes, diffusers, and mists, as well as personal color analysis, allowing visitors to experience the appeal of K-beauty firsthand.
An overseas APEC official who visited the exhibition remarked, "As K-beauty attracts global attention, companies in the Gyeongsangbuk-do region have demonstrated outstanding technology and quality, and their harmony with local resources was impressive. This exhibition provided a direct opportunity to witness the excellence of K-beauty."
