First ROK-US Security Consultative Meeting (SCM) Since Appointment of Defense Chiefs: "Discussing Key Defense Issues"

[Financial News] Ahn Gyu-back, Minister of National Defense (MND), and Pete Hegseth, United States Department of War, are scheduled to hold the 57th ROK-US Security Consultative Meeting (SCM) in Seoul on the 4th of next month.
According to the Ministry of National Defense (MND) on the 27th, this meeting will be the first official face-to-face talks since the two ministers took office. Senior officials from both countries’ defense and foreign affairs sectors will also attend.
During this SCM, both sides plan to discuss a wide range of issues to develop the alliance in a future-oriented and mutually beneficial manner, responding to evolving security environments and threats.
Specifically, the Ministry of National Defense stated that the main agenda items will include coordination on North Korea policy, combined defense posture, extended deterrence, regional security cooperation, cyber, space, and missile cooperation, defense industry cooperation including shipbuilding and MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul), and defense science and technology cooperation.
