According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on the 26th, North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui will visit the Russian Federation and Belarus at the invitation of their respective foreign ministries.
While specific dates, schedules, and agendas have not been disclosed, Choe is expected to meet with Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, during her visit and may discuss Kim Jong Un’s potential trip to the Russian Federation.
This marks Choe Son-hui’s first visit to the Russian Federation in a year, following her trip to Moscow last November, where she held talks with Sergey Lavrov and paid a courtesy call on President Vladimir Putin.

Choe Son-hui’s overseas trip draws attention, as it coincides with U.S. President Donald Trump’s scheduled visit to South Korea on the 29th and 30th.
Although President Trump publicly expressed his willingness to meet with Kim Jong Un on the 24th (local time), some analysts believe the likelihood of a North Korea-U.S. summit has decreased, as Choe Son-hui—who would play a key role as a top aide—will be absent during this period.
