KOSPI Surpasses 3,950 Mark Intraday for the First Time Ever... Closes at 3,941.59 [fn Closing Market]

KOSPI finished the session at 3,941.59, up 96.03 points (2.50%) from the previous trading day. This also set a new all-time closing high.
KOSPI opened at 3,893.23, up 47.67 points (1.24%) from the previous session, and surpassed the 3,910 mark for the first time in the morning. At around 11:04 a.m., it exceeded 3,920 for the first time ever.
The index continued its upward momentum, breaking through 3,930 for the first time at around 12:45 p.m., and then surged past 3,950 at 3:01 p.m.
In the domestic stock market, individuals sold shares worth 2.0056 trillion won, while foreign investors and institutions bought 590.3 billion won and 1.4052 trillion won, respectively.
As of the previous day, foreign investors’ net purchases of KOSPI stocks stood at 1,100.7527 trillion won. Since surpassing the 1,000 trillion won mark for the first time at the end of September, foreign buying has accelerated rapidly.
Among the top 14 stocks by market capitalization, all closed higher except for Hanwha Aerospace (-3.43%), KB Financial Group (-0.87%), and Kia Corporation (-0.09%).
LG Energy Solution (9.94%), SK Square (7.11%), SK hynix (6.58%), and Doosan Enerbility (6.03%) recorded the largest gains.
Samsung Electronics, the largest stock by market capitalization, ended at 98,800 won, up 2.38% from the previous session. On this day, the combined market capitalization of Samsung Electronics and SK hynix surpassed 1,000 trillion won for the first time ever.
The KOSDAQ Index closed at 883.08, up 11.05 points (1.27%) from the previous session. The index opened at 880.61, up 8.58 points (0.98%).
