Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 24th that it had signed a train ticket sales agreement with the global travel booking platform Klook on the 23rd to improve convenience for foreign travelers purchasing tickets.
Klook is an online travel agency mainly used in North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. It offers a wide range of travel products, including tours, admission tickets, transportation, and accommodation worldwide. With this agreement, starting next March, foreign travelers will be able to search and book tickets for KTX, Saemaeul-ho, Mugunghwa-ho, and other regular trains in real time via the Klook website and mobile app.
As a result, bookings can be made on the platform in the user's native language and with their preferred payment method, without the need to sign up for KORAIL membership. The service supports 15 languages, 40 currencies, and more than 40 convenient payment options.
Since 2018, KORAIL has expanded its online platforms, starting with Trip.com and including WeChat and Alipay, while adding overseas payment methods to make ticket reservations more convenient for foreign travelers.
Min-seong Lee, Head of Customer Marketing at KORAIL, stated, "We are strengthening customized services for foreigners, such as a multilingual website and the KORAIL Pass for rail travel freedom," adding, "With this agreement, we expect even more people will be able to use trains easily and conveniently."
