[Financial News] Yeosu Police Station announced on the 23rd that it had urgently arrested a woman in her 30s, identified only as A, on suspicion of abusing her four-month-old son in violation of the Child Welfare Act.
A is accused of leaving her infant, who was unable to support himself, unattended in the bathtub of her home in Yeosu-si at around 12:30 p.m. the previous day.
After belatedly discovering the child in the bathtub, A called the 119 emergency number and the baby was transported to the hospital, but was reported to be unconscious.
A reportedly stated that she was watching TV while her child was left in the bathtub.
Hospital staff discovered signs of abuse on the child's body and reported the case to the police.
