On the 22nd, Vice Minister Kwon Chang-jun discussed these measures with private recruitment platforms at a roundtable held at the Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office. Participants included the Korea Association for Occupational Information, JOBKOREA, Albamon, Saramin, Incruit, Jobplanet, and Wanted.
The Korea Association for Occupational Information proposed several measures to prevent employment fraud based on false job advertisements, including: establishing an integrated public-private system for handling fraudulent job postings, providing job-seeking guidance to young people entering the workforce, and strengthening post-monitoring systems for job advertisements.
MOEL plans to establish and operate regular inspections and a joint monitoring system with private recruitment platforms, based on inter-ministerial cooperation.
Vice Minister Kwon stated, "Job postings serve as a crucial first link to the labor market for young people preparing for employment, but unverified information and false job advertisements can quickly become tools for crime. MOEL will work closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Korean National Police Agency, and other relevant ministries to prevent job seekers from falling victim to crime through job information. We will also collaborate with private recruitment platforms to create a safe and transparent recruitment environment."
He further urged, "As false and exaggerated advertisements become increasingly sophisticated, I hope you will also consider ways to enhance monitoring methods, such as developing AI-based detection technologies and establishing integrated reporting systems, so that these postings can be identified and blocked more swiftly."
Meanwhile, during this year’s National Assembly audit, the government’s inadequate pre- and post-management system for job advertisements and employment fraud came under scrutiny in light of the Kingdom of Cambodia incident. There were calls to strengthen monitoring organizations, personnel, budgets, and technology.
