According to the Small Enterprise and Market Service, on the 21st, thirty youth interns and work experience trainees from public institutions in Daejeon and Sejong Special Self-Governing City participated in an exchange event at the Daejeon Exclusive Training Center.
This event was part of a joint project by the 'Daejeon, Chungcheong, and Sejong Public Institution Job Council,' initiated by a youth intern from the Small Enterprise and Market Service. It was designed to provide practical employment information and hands-on experience to young people preparing for careers in public institutions.
In addition to the Small Enterprise and Market Service, youth interns and trainees from Korea National Railway, Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED), Korea Gas Technology Corporation, and Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO) participated in the event.
The main programs included presentations on work experiences at each institution, a public institution knowledge quiz, small group mentoring sessions with current employees, and short-form video presentations aimed at revitalizing consumption in traditional markets. The mentoring sessions, in particular, drew attention as employees from each institution joined group discussions to share practical advice on job responsibilities, the hiring process, and organizational culture.
Participants also planned, filmed, and presented short-form videos on the theme of promoting consumption in traditional markets. Out of five videos produced by visiting nearby traditional markets and shopping streets, the best entry was selected by on-site voting.
Seong-Hyo Park, President of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, remarked, “This event is a meaningful example of a youth intern’s idea being realized as an actual program. We will continue to expand opportunities for young people to plan and participate directly, ensuring the public sector serves as a solid stepping stone for youth employment.”
