[Financial News] The Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) announced on the 21st that, in celebration of the 80th Police Day, it is operating the Science and Public Safety AI Exhibition Hall in the lobby on the first floor of its headquarters in Seodaemun District, Seoul.
This exhibition focuses on how the police utilize science and technology, including AI, to protect citizens' lives and safety and to prepare for future public safety environments, in line with the government's national agenda of 'Realizing the Top 3 Global AI Power.'
The exhibition hall showcases advanced technologies and products from leading domestic companies related to six core public safety areas directly connected to the safety of citizens.
Among the exhibits are Funzin's AI decision-making system, which proposes optimal solutions to commanders in various emergency situations, and Elmines' Scream Detection Emergency Bell, which automatically triggers an alarm when AI detects a scream.
The exhibition also highlights the achievements of police drones, which have located 190 missing persons in the field over the past five years during heavy rains and other incidents. A Quadruped Robot, which will be deployed in dangerous areas ahead of police dogs for drug and explosive detection, was also unveiled.
The Emergency Blocking System for telecommunications financial fraud (voice phishing) was also introduced. This technology analyzes reports received through the website in real time and blocks phishing numbers within 10 minutes, dramatically reducing the blocking time from the previous 48 hours or more. A Comprehensive Dashboard, which aggregates and displays real-time voice phishing reports and police response status, was also revealed.
In addition, advanced drug detection equipment capable of identifying even trace amounts of narcotics and portable detectors for easy on-site identification were displayed.
Do Jun-su, Director of the Future Public Safety Policy Bureau at KNPA, stated, "Through AI innovation in public safety, the police will strengthen their capabilities to respond to new types of crimes that threaten public safety, such as voice phishing."
