The Korea Fashion Association (KFA)'s K-fashion showroom, LEDOME, participated in the official trade show of Shanghai Fashion Week, the MODE Shanghai Fashion Trade Show, reaffirming the potential for K-fashion brands to expand their presence and distribution in the Asian market.
On the 20th, the Korea Fashion Association announced its participation in MODE Shanghai Fashion Trade Show, which took place from the 9th to the 13th. This event is a leading trade show attended by key buyers from Asia, including China, Taiwan, and Japan, and has served as a gateway for overseas brands entering the Chinese market.
This year’s LEDOME joint booth featured six promising domestic women's apparel and accessory brands: Lucir zu, FROMWHERE, Theballon, TRIPLEROOT, Miyansol, and Finoacinque.
During the exhibition, numerous buyers from China and other Asian regions visited and took note of the sophisticated designs and high-quality details of Korean brands. Items such as oversized jackets and slim-fit cardigans, which cater to local body types and preferences, received enthusiastic responses. Some products that had limited popularity in Korea were rediscovered in the Chinese market, highlighting their potential for localization.
Supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, LEDOME participated in both COTERIE New York and MODE Shanghai Fashion Trade Show this year, directly experiencing shifts in global distribution trends. A key takeaway from the exhibitions is that, alongside the spread of K-pop and K-content, the global perception of Korean brands’ refined design sensibility and competitive pricing continues to strengthen.
The association is going beyond simple exhibition participation support, strengthening a tailored support system for each stage of brand growth. Through LEDOME, it assists brands throughout the entire global business process, from building online archives and entering distribution channels to buyer matching and connecting with overseas showrooms and exhibitions.
Sung Rae-eun, president of the Korea Fashion Association, stated, “K-fashion is home to many brands that excel not only in design sensibility but also in manufacturing capability and competitive pricing. Our top priority is to help Korean small and medium-sized brands become trusted partners for overseas buyers, using LEDOME as a foundation.”
