On the morning of the 20th at the Korea Territorial Development Exhibition Hall, Kim Yun-duk, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), met with Majed Al Hogail, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing of Saudi Arabia. Provided by MOLIT.

[Financial News] On the 20th, Minister Kim Yun-duk of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) met with Majed Al Hogail, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing of Saudi Arabia, at the Korea Territorial Development Exhibition Hall to discuss cooperation in urban and housing development between Korea and Saudi Arabia.
This meeting was arranged at the suggestion of Minister Majed Al Hogail to discuss collaboration in the fields of Smart City and Digital twin, which are currently being promoted by MOLIT.
Minister Kim introduced the integrated Smart City operation platform, which connects information systems of local governments, fire departments, and police to enable real-time responses to emergencies such as fires and accidents. He explained, "We plan to actively showcase Korea's Smart City development technologies and expertise at the Smart City Roadshow to be held in Riyadh starting November 18."
He went on to say, "I hope that the Korean-style Digital twin platform, which enables efficient urban management by applying Digital twin technology developed by our companies, will be expanded to become a national platform for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."
Minister Majed Al Hogail expressed, "We look forward to integrating digital technologies throughout urban operations through cooperation with Korea," and added, "The Smart City and Digital twin technologies possessed by Korean companies will greatly contribute to solving urban challenges in Saudi Arabia."
He also noted, "Korean companies have achieved significant results in Saudi Arabia, including the Riyadh Metro, and we hope they will participate in Saudi urban and housing projects."
In response, Minister Kim stated, "The recent rapid advancement of cutting-edge Information and Communication Technology (ICT), including Artificial Intelligence (AI), is driving innovation in administrative services and urban infrastructure." He emphasized, "Through the convergence of smart construction, Digital twin, Big data-based management technology, and the construction industry, we will enhance global competitiveness and actively support the overseas expansion of Korean construction companies."
