This collection of columns is authored by a veteran journalist who, over more than 30 years of reporting both domestically and internationally, has gathered wisdom from people he met and reflected on these experiences to offer insightful perspectives.
The author, who joined an economic newspaper in his twenties and retired from the same company, has served as editor-in-chief at an online news outlet and continues to be active in the field.
Containing a total of 110 columns, this book highlights meaningful topics that our society must contemplate together. Beginning with 'A Company Is National Competitiveness,' and including chapters such as 'Freedom is not free,' 'A First-Class Nation Overcomes Fourth-Rate Politics,' and 'Education Is a Centennial Plan for the Nation,' each of the four sections boldly addresses Korea's core issues without shying away from taboos or sacred cows.
The book also presents ideas on the Transfer of Wartime Operational Control between South Korea and the United States, strategies for reforming Korea's outdated political system, and ways to strengthen educational competitiveness.
The author states, "A column is not merely an expression of opinion, but the intersection of sweat and record," adding, "Going forward, I will always prioritize public interest over private gain, and persuasion over agitation, striving to rely on logic and facts."
