KOSPI Approaches 3,800 Mark During Intraday Trading on Foreign Buying

On the 17th, the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) closed at 3,748.89, up 0.52 points (0.01%). Dealers are at work at the KEB Hana Bank headquarters dealing room in Myeong-dong, Seoul.

KOSPI traded close to the 3,800 level during intraday trading, buoyed by net buying from foreign investors.
On the 17th, KOSPI finished at 3,748.89, up 0.52 points (0.01%) from the previous trading day.
KOSPI opened at 3,732.76, down 15.61 points (0.42%) from the previous day. During the session, the index rose as much as 46.50 points (1.24%) to reach 3,794.87.
In the KOSPI Market, foreign investors purchased shares worth 298.7 billion KRW, driving the index higher. In contrast, individual investors sold 81.9 billion KRW, and institutions offloaded 236.1 billion KRW worth of shares.
Most large-cap stocks saw gains. SK hynix rose 2.21%, and LG Energy Solution climbed 2.62%.
By sector, electric/gas (up 5.03%) and electrical/electronics (up 1.29%) led the gains.
The KOSDAQ Index closed at 859.54, down 5.87 points (0.68%) from the previous day.
