Kangwon Land announced on the 17th that the first 'Untan Godo Wishing Road Trekking' event, which follows the history and culture of coal mines, will take place on November 1 along Route 5 of the Untan Godo Trail at High1 Resort in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province.
The event is expected to attract around 3,000 participants, including international tourists. It is designed to allow participants to walk the Untan Godo Wishing Road together, experience the culture and history of coal mining firsthand, and vividly feel the traces of life in former mining areas.
Additionally, a variety of nature-inspired healing programs will be offered at the High1 Resort Mountain Condo Lawn Plaza and along Route 5 of the Untan Godo Trail. These include eco-friendly pot making, forest meditation, rope play for children, photo opportunities at Untan Godo landmarks, one-minute caricatures, and sports taping experiences, all of which are expected to be well received by families.
Ki-Tae Ahn, Head of ESG Win-Win Headquarters at Kangwon Land, stated, “This trekking event will be a meaningful journey that connects the paths of the past coal mines to a road of hope for the future. We hope that many people will join us to experience the region’s history and heartfelt stories together.”
