Chairman Jung Won-ju Attends Groundbreaking Ceremony for Mineral Fertilizer Plant in Turkmenistan

Daewoo Engineering & Construction announced on the 17th that Chairman Jung Won-ju attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the 'Mineral Fertilizer Plant' held on the 15th in Türkmenabat, the second largest city in Turkmenistan.
This project, valued at $784 million (approximately 1.081 trillion KRW), involves constructing facilities and auxiliary infrastructure to produce 350,000 tons of phosphatic fertilizer and 100,000 tons of Ammonium sulfate annually. The construction period is set for 37 months.
Chairman Jung stated, "This groundbreaking marks a new starting point toward Turkmenistan’s prosperous future and sustainable development. As the Mineral Fertilizer Plant is a key project for advancing the gas-chemical industry and national agriculture, we will repay the trust placed in us by delivering the highest quality through close cooperation with local partners."
Prior to the ceremony, on the 14th, Chairman Jung paid a courtesy visit to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, the National Leader and Chairman of the People's Council, in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan.
During this meeting, he shared updates on several new petrochemical plant and large-scale infrastructure projects that Daewoo Engineering & Construction is pursuing. He also requested continued interest and support to help advance Turkmenistan’s industrial development and strengthen bilateral cooperation, leveraging the company’s accumulated technical expertise and global construction experience.
A company representative emphasized, "This project will further solidify our cooperative relationship with Turkmenistan. Building on our extensive global experience and outstanding construction capabilities, we plan to pursue additional project orders in the future."
