North Gyeongsang Province (Gyeongsangbuk-do) announced on the 19th that it will host a range of colorful festivals in each city and county this fall, offering visitors coming for the 2025 APEC Summit a wealth of experiences, delicious food, and lasting memories.
As the APEC Summit is set to take place in Gyeongju from the 27th to the 1st of next month, various festivals blending culture, art, and tourism are being prepared throughout the province to welcome guests.
To wish for the success of the 2025 APEC Summit, the Pohang International Fireworks Festival will be held on the 29th at Yeongildae Beach. The festival will feature a fireworks show, drone displays, and sci-fi performances set against the backdrop of the blue sea, delivering messages of support from residents and North Gyeongsang Province’s aspirations to reach the world.
In Yeongdeok, where the blue sea meets pine forests, the Yeongdeok International H Wellness Festa will take place from the 30th to November 2nd.
The Cheongsong Apple Festival, designated as the province’s top festival, will be held from the 29th to November 2nd under the theme 'Cheongsong, Green Again, Red Again.'
Symbolizing 'Healthy North Gyeongsang Province,' the Yeongju Punggi Insam Festival (until the 26th) is an industrial and cultural event that promotes the excellence of ginseng. Visitors can participate in activities such as the Golden Ginseng Hunt, Punggi Ginseng Auction, and Ginseng Peeling Contest, as well as enjoy a variety of cultural performances including the traditional Dendong Eome Hwa-jeon Nori.
The nationally renowned Gimcheon Gimbap Festival (25th–26th) returns this year with an even more exciting lineup. It features three Gimbap Zones (Premium, Unique, and Event), along with interactive programs such as the Gimbap Creation Studio, Local Gimbap Experience, and Unique Gimbap Experience Zone, making it a food festival for all ages.
The Gumi Ramyeon Festival, held near Gumi Station from November 7th to 9th, is a gourmet event where domestic and international ramyeon brands and restaurants gather under the theme of 'The World’s Longest Ramyeon Restaurant.' The festival offers a variety of programs including a Ramyeon Restaurant Experience Zone, a Ramyeon Sommelier Competition, and a Ramyeon Imagination Studio, allowing everyone to enjoy ramyeon-related content.
Governor Lee Cheol-woo stated, "The festivals of North Gyeongsang Province are the face of our region, created together by residents and serving as a warm space to share with guests. Through these festivals, we aim to invigorate the local economy and offer both domestic and international visitors attending the APEC Summit a chance to experience the province’s unique charm and hospitality."
