[Financial News] Kim Jungsu, a rider for the Spain-based motorsport team MISSION GRAND PRIX, has set a new milestone in the history of Korean motorcycle sports.
On July 27, Kim became the first Korean to qualify for the finals in the Moto2 World Championship class at Round 4 of the FIM JuniorGP World Championship, held at Spain's Aragon Circuit. This achievement is being recognized as a significant milestone for the domestic motorcycle sports community.
Steady Progress Amid Fierce Competition
This season, the FIM JuniorGP World Championship features a total of 32 riders, many of whom are competitive enough to participate in the MotoGP (Grand Prix motorcycle racing) as wild cards. The level of competition is considered unprecedented.
In this highly competitive environment, Kim Jungsu qualified 27th in the preliminaries and finished 23rd in both Race 1 and Race 2 of the finals, demonstrating his stable race management skills.
After the race, Kim Jungsu remarked, "This year, the competition is fiercer than ever," adding, "However, I wanted to test myself and grow on this stage."
He continued, "Reaching the finals at the Aragon round is a new starting point for me," and pledged, "I will continue to challenge myself and come back even stronger."
A New Possibility for Korean Motorcycling
A representative from MISSION GRAND PRIX commented, "This result means more than just a ranking," and added, "It is a case that demonstrates the potential of Korean riders to challenge and grow on the European stage."
The FIM JuniorGP World Championship is known as Europe's premier gateway to the MotoGP. Through various classes such as Moto2 World Championship, Moto3, and the European Talent Cup, young riders fiercely compete for a chance to reach the top tier of world racing.
Kim Jungsu's achievement is being regarded as an important signal for the development potential of Korean motorcycle sports. It is also expected to positively influence the advancement of more Korean riders onto the international stage in the future.
