KOSPI Hits All-Time High Before Falling Below 3,600... Retreats to 3,558.82 [fn Afternoon Market Report]

[The Financial News] On the 14th, the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) surpassed the 3,600 mark to reach a record high, but later retreated to the 3,555 level.
As of 2:24 p.m., the KOSPI was trading at 3,558.82, down 25.73 points (0.72%) from the previous session. The index opened at 3,604.12, up 19.57 points (0.55%), and briefly touched 3,146.77 at around 9:31 a.m. However, heavy institutional selling caused the KOSPI to fall back below the 3,600 threshold.
In the KOSPI Market, individuals and foreign investors have purchased 91.4 billion KRW and 431.5 billion KRW worth of shares, respectively, while institutions have sold off 592.8 billion KRW. Among the top 14 stocks by market capitalization, LG Energy Solution (up 7.08%), Samsung Life Insurance (up 5.67%), and Hyundai Motor (up 2.06%) continued to show strength. In contrast, Hanwha Aerospace (down 5.94%), HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (down 3.97%), and Shinhan Financial Group (down 2.56%) declined.
Samsung Electronics, the largest stock by market capitalization, was trading at 91,600 KRW, down 1.82% from the previous session.
The KOSDAQ Index was at 847.56, down 12.93 points (1.50%) from the previous session. The index opened at 865.37, up 4.88 points (0.57%).
