Andong-si, along with two other Cultural Cities in the Gyeongsang region of the ROK, have joined hands for mutual growth.
On the 13th, Andong-si announced that it had signed the 'Agreement for Joint Development of Cultural Cities in the Gyeongsang region of the ROK' at Jungyeong within Jinjuseong Fortress in Jinju City.
This agreement was established to build a cooperative framework among the leading Cultural Cities of the Gyeongsang region—Andong-si, Jinju City, and Tongyeong-si. The aim is to promote sustainable development by sharing visions and policies and fostering interregional collaboration.
Mayor Ki Chang Kwon emphasized, "With this agreement, if the three cities leverage their unique cultural strengths and work together, the Gyeongsang region will become a central pillar of cultural policy in the ROK and a model for balanced regional cultural development."
The agreement includes sharing visions and policy cooperation among Cultural Cities, promoting exchanges using shared cultural resources, networking among regional cultural enterprises and startups, and other initiatives to enhance mutual growth and cooperation.
Andong-si aims to spread unique cultural content by reinterpreting traditional play culture under the vision of 'A Traditional Cultural City Enjoyed Through Play.' Tongyeong-si pursues 'A Creative Cultural City Adding Value to Art,' focusing on music, crafts, and support for artists.
Jinju City, as 'A City Where Culture and Industry Coexist in Harmony,' plans to create new growth engines for the cultural industry of the Gyeongsang region through collaboration among the three cities.
