[Financial News] The Special Prosecutor Team for Insurrection and Treason, led by Cho Eun-seok, has requested the court to allow live broadcasting of the trial in which former President Yoon Suk Yeol is accused of leading an insurrection.
According to legal sources on the 1st, the special prosecutor's team submitted an application for broadcast permission to Criminal Agreement Division 25, presided over by Judge Ji Gui-yeon, at the Seoul Central District Court on the 30th of last month.
The trial is scheduled for the 2nd. Since being rearrested by the special prosecutor's team, former President Yoon has failed to appear at this trial for twelve consecutive sessions.
Previously, the special prosecutor's team also requested live broadcasting for the first hearing of Yoon's additional indictment on charges including obstruction of special official duties. Criminal Agreement Division 35 of the Seoul Central District Court, presided over by Baek Daehyeon, granted this request, allowing images of Yoon's court appearance to be released to the public through the media.
