City Councilor Lee Jong-bae Appears Before Police Over Complaint Against Lawmaker Seo Young-kyo

[Financial News] Lee Jong-bae, a Seoul city councilor from the People Power Party, appeared before police in connection with his defamation complaint against Seo Young-kyo, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK).
According to police on the 1st, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Public Crime Investigation Division summoned Lee to the Mapo Police Office that morning to question him about the circumstances of the complaint.
Before the investigation, Lee stated, "The evidence presented by Representative Seo was a YouTube broadcast, but even the YouTuber admitted it might not be true," adding, "Nevertheless, she asserted the false information as fact."
Previously, lawmakers Seo Young-kyo and Boo Seung-chan raised suspicions that, following the impeachment verdict of former President Yoon Suk Yeol, Chief Justice Cho and Former Prime Minister Han met to discuss the election law case involving President Lee Jae Myung. The allegations were based on a recording reported via a YouTube channel in May, but Chief Justice Cho denied that any such meeting took place.
On the 18th of last month, Lee Jong-bae filed a police complaint against Seo Young-kyo, accusing her of spreading false information. The police plan to determine the direction of their investigation based on the complainant’s statement.
