[Financial News] Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jeong announced in a written briefing that President Lee Jae Myung received credentials from seven newly appointed resident ambassadors to Korea at the presidential office on the morning of the 29th.
The presentation of credentials ceremony is a procedure in which the head of state of the sending country delivers the credentials, granted to their new ambassador, to the head of state of the host country. This marks the second such ceremony since the launch of the Government of the People.
The newly appointed ambassadors are Nadine Olivieri Lozano (Switzerland), Bartosz Wiśniewski (Poland), Tanel Sepp (Republic of Estonia), Philippe Lafortune (Canada), Mikkel Hemniti Winther (Denmark), Wong Kai Jun (Singapore), and Ugo Astuto (European Union).
President Lee welcomed the new ambassadors and asked them to serve as bridges so that relations between both countries can develop in various fields and bring greater tangible benefits to their peoples during their tenure.
He especially expressed hope for close cooperation in areas where Korea excels, such as artificial intelligence (AI), advanced technology, and defense industry, and wished for even greater collaboration as Korea takes on a larger role on the international stage as a responsible global leader.
The new ambassadors conveyed special greetings from their respective heads of state, shared their thoughts on their appointments to Korea, and expressed their commitment to advancing bilateral relations. They also voiced strong support for the Korean government's efforts to ease tensions and establish peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Additionally, they requested that President Lee visit their countries at a convenient time during his tenure to help further expand bilateral ties.
