[Financial News] KOSPI is fluctuating at the 3480 level thanks to foreign net buying.
On the 23rd at 2:14 PM, the KOSPI index is trading at 3487.73, up 19.08p (0.55%) from the previous trading day. Today, KOSPI soared to 3494.49 in the early session, almost breaking through the 3500 level.
In the stock market, foreigners are buying 217.7 billion KRW worth of shares. Individuals and institutions are showing a selling dominance of 102 billion KRW and 172.2 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, pharmaceuticals (3.22%), electronics (1.70%), and electric gas (1.66%) are on the rise, while securities (-2.31%), transportation and storage (-1.50%), and real estate (-1.24%) are weak.
Among the top market cap stocks, Samsung Electronics (2.04%), SK Hynix (2.42%), LG Energy Solution (1.58%), and Samsung Biologics (1.36%) are rising, while Hanwha Aerospace (-1.96%), KB Financial (-0.98%), and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (-0.70%) are declining.
Jaewon Lee, a researcher at Shinhan Investment Corp, said, "Despite the cautious sentiment ahead of Micron's earnings announcement tomorrow morning Korean time, the semiconductor-led rally continues," adding, "If there is an earnings surprise, a foreign-led stock market rally is expected to resume."
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is trading at 870.29, down 4.07p (0.47%) from the previous trading day.
In the KOSDAQ market, individuals are buying 305.9 billion KRW worth of shares, while foreigners and institutions are showing a selling dominance of 194 billion KRW and 85.1 billion KRW, respectively.
